The Historical Architectural Influence on Mallard Homes – Part 2

This is the second in a 3-part series of blogs that looks more closely at the three house plan groups that Mallard Homes offers:

  • The Cottage Series
  • The Garden Series
  • The Village Series

In our last blog, we looked at the Cottage Series. In this blog, we will explore the Garden Series, which has three floor plans:

  • The Morris
  • The Sullivan
  • The Warren

Like the Cottage Series, the Garden Series also takes its inspiration from the American Craftsman style of architecture. And the three different plans are named in honor of influential thinkers and architects of the Arts and Crafts Movement.

The Garden Series is reflective of the love of quality craftsmanship that was revived in the American Craftsman period. You can see the quality workmanship and details inside and out in every home we build.

The Perfect Marriage of Authentic Design with Modern Living

Each plan in the Garden Series has three elevations. These authentic architectural elevations show the influence of the architecture of a simple time. But the floor plans cater to today’s lifestyles. The floor plans in the Garden Series include most if not all of the following:

  • built-in cubbies
  • a grand fireplace in the main living area
  • an open floor plan with a kitchen that is open to the dining and family rooms
  • large bedroom closets
  • 10-foot ceilings in family room and dining room
  • spacious bonus room
